Children age 3 up to grade 5 will be invited to depart for their Sunday School program during the children’s hymn. At this time, parents are asked to accompany their children and leaders to their classrooms for sign in and other special instructions.

Sunday Morning “On Call” Volunteers Needed

Are you curious about what takes place during our Sunday morning children’s programs? Would you like to experience firsthand the blessings which accompany working in these programs? Do you want to make a difference in a child’s life?

Your Sunday School/Nursery departments are looking for volunteers this fall who are willing to step in should one of our regular program leaders is unexpectedly delayed or falls ill on a Sunday morning. The responsibilities are light – no lesson preparation or teaching required. A rotation schedule will be made available to identify who is “on call” each Sunday.

All that is needed is a willingness to be present in the classroom to ensure that every class has a minimum of two adults is all that is needed. Please note: In adherence to First Moncton’s child protection policy, all volunteers are asked to complete a volunteer data sheet and police check.
If this is an area of ministry that interests you, please see Vickie Melanson or Pastor Mark or call the church office.

CONVENTION PRAYER LINK: Please pray for the children’s ministries & other ministry groups in our churches that they may grow increasingly passionate about reaching those who need to know Christ as well as leading Christ-followers in a deepening walk with Him. Pray for all the various leaders, teachers & others that they may be strengthened & encouraged in their ministry.

CONFUSED BY THE BIBLE?! Many people get lost in the Bible. No wonder! It is lengthy, it doesn’t follow along in chronological order and it was written by many authors over many years. To make matters worse we tend to read it in separate small portions at a time. All of which makes it very difficult to see how it can be seen as a single story or how one part fits into the whole. HELP IS NOW AVAILABLE … The Rev. George Eves is an Anglican pastor who teaches at Taylor College of Mission and Evangelism in Saint John. He will be offering his course GOD’S UNFOLDING PLAN (Part 1) over 7 Saturdays from Sept. 11-Oct 30. This course will cover most of the Old Testament and will run 10am to 3 pm each Saturday at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Riverview. It is designed especially for lay persons who want to deepen their understanding of God’s Word. The cost is $150 including the textbook.
